Of all my years infatuated with Science Fiction I have never seen an episode of the cult classic Space: 1999. I knew that it had a moonbase in it, and that the primary ship was called the Eagle. I knew that the ships functioned very realistically, based off of NASA principles. I knew that Ged and Dave raved about it on the Scifi-Cast. I knew it took place in the 70's. I didn't know until today, that it is AMAZING! I found the pilot on youtube and commenced a live-tweet of the episode on twitter using the hashtag #1stTimeSpace1999. I cannot wait to watch the rest of the episodes.
