Troop 16 - Pack 21 Cub Scouts Blue and Gold Dinner (POC)
Long Beach, CALIFORNIA
What an amazing night. This was my first Troop as the POC (Point of Contact) and it couldn't have gone better. Rebels, Sith and Imperials came together in this Star Wars themed Blue and Gold Cub Scout event. 8 scouts took part in their "bridging ceremony" where they transition from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. The leaders went all out having Star Wars themed cake, decorations, a Y.O.D.A sing-a-long and of course the 501st for photos and helping with the ceremony.
Not only was this my first time as the POC (Point of Contact). But I was also the keynote speaker, sharing my experiences in the 501st and being an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. The Scouts presented me with a signed picture of the pack as a thank you and many were thrilled to be talking Stormtroopers, Rebels and Sith.
This was also a TB-5651 (Jake)'s first troop in the SCG, having moved from the Dewback Ridge Garrison. I had a great time seeing my 501st friends again and being able to put together this fun night. I can't wait to POC again. Thank you everyone for coming out and being a part of this community.
